Chinese abyssal glider plunged to a record depth of 8213 meters in the Mariana trench, reports the Central TV of China.

 

Research vessel “Sanyanga-18”, which is Sunday, and returned to the base port Municipal Oceanographic administration of China subsequently 30-day mission, was in the region of the Mariana trench 31 with underwater gliders “Haiyan — 4000” (“Petrel”) and “Haiyan -10000”.

 

During the mission, the Chinese gliders in a joint difficulty carried out 18 dives, of which only a giant working depth was 8213 meters, in fact that was a fresh major record deep-sea dive, reports the channel.

 

It is noted that the researcher was able to collect a tremendous amount of valuable data of deep-sea research.

 

In may 2017, the Chinese abyssal unit “Jiaolong” successfully plunged to a depth of 7811 meters into the most solid on the planet — the Depth of the Challenger in the Mariana trench. Prior to this, “Jiaolong” has already made a dive into the Mariana trench in 2012, during which time he plunged to a depth of 7062 meters.
