Georgian police detained a 31-year-old man who stole several Antiques, including a picture of the famous Russian portrait painter Orest Kiprensky and steering wheel from Mercedes, according to the website of the interior Ministry.
According to the Ministry, the man stole precious Antiques from a house in the center of Tbilisi, but it is not specified who owns the house.
“Among the stolen items is a picture painted by a Russian portraitist Orest Kiprensky in 1817, another antique canvas by an unknown author, a collection wheel of a Mercedes car made of ivory, an old ship’s wheel, eight antique chairs, carpets and other things,” the Ministry said in a statement.
Police officers withdrew all stolen things at a search of the car of the man. Antiques will be returned to the owner after the investigation, the report says.
